Introduction
Hello, my name is Fluorine and my symbol is "F". I am a nonmetal (gas-halogen) and was discovered in 1886. You can find me on the Periodic Table in group 17, period 2 and in orbital block p. I am the most reactive element and no chemical substance is capable of freeing me from any of my compounds. For this reason, I do not occur free in nature uncombined and it was extremely difficult for scientists to isolate me. I occur in fluorspar and cryolite and I am a common element, due to being widely distributed in other minerals. I am also the 13th most abundant element in the earth's crust.
